A great way to start the morning. I remember eating pastries like this when I lived in Japan .
These pastries are stuffed with a Red Bean Paste or Azuki bean which is a sweet, dark red bean originating from China. It is used in Chinese , Japanese confectioneryy, and Korean cuisine. You prepared the beans by boiling in water, then drain water, and mash the azuki beans . The husk of the beans may be removed by sieving before sweetening, which leads to a smoother paste. Sweeten the bean paste with brown sugar,or honey.
The bun is not very sweet but a perfect match with the red bean paste. This breakfast was topped off with a cup of coffee~
October to me means the pumpkins are soon to arrive in the Pumpkin fields ~
