Panettoni

This panettoni was so good we bought at Trader Joes. Even hubby tried this one and he does not like Panattoni what so ever.  But I toast slices to make it crispy and I add an English Orange Marmalade before serving.

Our Thinker

Our Youngest he is the thinker of the family !! ! Sits quietly watching everyone and evaluates the situation. Some what like me but he is oh so smart,as you can tell he is pondering a though about Panetoni and how it came to be in the country of Italy~~~~

Surprise Mail Call

I received an unexpected envelope today in the mail a few days ago. You see I have been sewing like crazy and today I finally took the time to update my blog. I received a church cookbook from my SIL and what a nice surprise! The recipes look good and I will enjoy making a lot of them. I have to get "thankyou" notes out next week. Can you belive there is no place in town to buy stationery or boxes of notecards. Gee this is so not funny, so next week I have some shopping to do down the road and stationery is the first priority to buy !!!

Turkey Burger

Ok I enjoy a good grilled burger but I use turkey cutlets and blend in the food processer. I add fresh basil,garlic,rosemary,ground pepper,cinnamon,a pinch of salt, a dash of chipolte red pepper flakes,and a 1 teaspoon of olive oil.Blend spices in a mini food processer ,then add to chopped meat, blend well and make into patties and place on a hot grill.

 I also love mushrooms ,thin slices of onions, bread and butter pickles,red leaf lettuce. Add what ever cheese you might like to kick it up a knotch and we like the spicey cheeses or a smoked cheese.

Another favorite, we like to drizzle balsamic vinegar on top of the burger add the mozzrella cheese,and a slice of tomato,and fresh basil leaves. Yummmmmm!

My Cups

Two of the cups I made . The safari cup is what I swapped now I have to make more to add to my quilt. The quilt is to short, so that is what I will design today different cups for this quilt,as I am stitching hearts together !

Cuppa Swap

A swap I was in for Cups of tea or coffee.. I made the Safari cups with pale yellow background. I also made the row of  3 cups second to the left. Red,heart,and pink cup !! I have 10 more cups to make to finish this into a nice quilt !!! The hunt is on for a mini design of tiny cup fabrics,or I might use a sweet treat to border the cups.

Awesome Products

This has got to be the best cornmeal ever. In the south we only use white cornmeal. But in the SoCal area they use a yellow cornmeal which was hard to get use to but it is ok now. I am accustom to using yellow cornmeal with my Ethnic meals. I grew up with TexMex meals when I was a kid, and none of my friends even tasted that kind of food in the East Tennessee town I was raised. Everytime I had a slumber party my mom would make her mexican casserole and my friends went crazy over her dinners . My mom was born in Willspoint ,Texas so she loved the foods from Texas and especially Tamales which are my favorite!

Mail Call

A few days ago we received a box from my hubby's brother and his wife !!! They hunted down some real southern flour,and I do mean REAL flour from the south! Since the elevation is high here my poor biscuits never rose what so ever. My family knew my flat biscuits were not going to be 10 ft high but they were oh so good. Now WOW what a difference a good flour from the south has made ,and my biscuits will be exactly 11 ft high, now that I have the right flour. Thanks for sending and some of the flour as you see in the photo sneaked out of the bag!!!  And yes I scooped it right back into the bag,every ounce counts LOL !

My Blue Heart~

Don't you just love blue and especially with a dash of yellow! I am going to bead my red hearts I need like more hands to get this done. I better set the TV on to the vintage Doris Day movies and get moving !!

Valentine Wall Design

I made this for my son and his wife for their wall for Valentines. Have to do a bit more Crazy Quilting on the lace heart. I have two more of these wall hangings to make so I better get to the sewing !Well I am slow today so I have to finish my blogging today since I have missed a few days!

Red & White Finished Blocks

Here are my red and white blocks where I have added on the white polka dot fabric. This will be a simple Quilt with the vibrant Red and White mini squares.I have made 6 of these blocks so I have a few more to go in this project !

Exactly What I Wanted:)

You know I do not like perfect blocks on Quilts that seem to be made by running them off an assembly line. So the imperfections in my blocks are more personal and whimisical looking! There are so many different Quilts to make but I like designing my own works of Art that reflect me and my personality.

German Musical Cookie Containers

I started collecting these containers a few years ago. They are to pretty to store away,so I leave out year round with mints ,gum,or wrapped hard candies.

Mexican Casserole

My middle son made supper and it was so good !!! He is such a wonderful cook! All my sons love to cook and this makes me so Happy !!!!!  The heart of the home is the kitchen. Altho my kitchen needs a complete overhawl 1984 design or someone needs to gut it out and start with a new floor plan. So the heart of my family is my food not my kitchen!!!!

My family loves this recipe and I use the jar cherries that pack a sweet/sour punch !
