In the south we always have a pot of Black Eye Peas on the stove for New Years Day ! I wrap a dime in tin foil, and stir it in the bowl of Peas when it is time to serve the dinner. Who ever gets the dime will have good luck for that year! It is fun to see who will be lucky for the next New Year !!!
